Wudong began training in Wushu style at age 6 with his father, following family tradition, learning Shaolin, Xingyi, Bagua, and others. He continues to study with Sun Lutang’s daughter, and other traditional masters, in all aspects of the Sun, Yang, Chen, and Wu Styles Taijiquan.
Wudong is an associate professor and researcher at the Beijing Sports University with many books and DVDs under his name. He has taught extensively to students from all over the world and also has conducted workshops in 6 countries.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: 1992-Present Department of Wushu, Beijing University of Physical Education, (Beijing Sport University) China (PRC)
- Teaches all aspects of wushu (Chinese martial arts) including forms, competition and research
- Founded Tibiao teaching method, which combines truth to the classics, esthetics, form, method and application
- Lecturer/trainer: Taught workshops in Australia, Canada, France, Greece, Italy and Japan. In Beijing, taught hundreds of students who have come from all over the world, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, England, Greece, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland and the United States

EARLY TRAINING:
- Began training at age 6 with his father following family tradition in the boxing styles of Shaolin, Xinyi and Bafa
- Later, learned Zha boxing, Baji boxing, Pigua, Chuojiao, Bagua, Taijiquan
- Participated in Wushu tournaments of Shanxi Province, winning medals in Daoshu, Gunshu, Nanquan, etc.
- Studied with the daughter of Sun Lutang, creator of Sun style Taijiquan, Qi Yuezhen and from other masters of traditional Taijiquan to learn both hand and weapons forms in the Sun, Yang, Wu, and Chen styles. Mastered the rules of traditional Taijiquan in theory and in the practice of boxing, weapons, Gunshu, push hands and freestyle, etc.

AWARDS:
- Second prize, in both the 2005 and 2007 Beijing City’s Teaching Fundamental Skills Competition, representing Beijing University of Physical Education
- First prize 2007 Beijing University Technique Demonstration Competition
- Wushu thesis was awarded the national first prize in 1996 and the second prize in 1998.
OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENT:
- Trained many excellent Wushu athletes, many of whom have gained remarkable results in international competition, and some have founded Wushu schools all over the world.
